Fuelpak FP3 Comprehensive Review
When it comes to better bike performance, you don’t want to waste your money on expensive things that wouldn’t work, in this review I want to share some of my thoughts about Fuelpak FP3.
The Vance and Hines is revolutionizing fuel management tuning with its FuelpakFP3. Connecting wirelessly by Bluetooth to any Android or iPhone smartphones.
Fuelpak FP3 makes it very simple to recalibrate engine parameters and mapping for exhaust systems and thousands of other performance upgrades are available from a large library of calibration developed by Vance & Hines.
If you own a late model HD you sure know how lean they are due to the environment regulations. A lot of people change exhaust pipes, air cleaners to add some performance to the bike but without tuning fuel maps you are only exacerbating the problem.
What is Fuelpak fp3?
Fuelpak FP3 is a fuel management system that connects to your bike ECU and allows you to adjust settings that can’t be done with stock ECU. For example if you change your stock exhaust system, the airflow changes and you need to adjust air/fuel ratio to match the changes. You can not do that with stock ECU, but FP3 Fuelpak can do it.
What is it used for?
The Fuelpak FP3 is definitely the must-have performance mod for fuel injected Harleys. Using Fuelpak FP3 app allows you to keep a finger on the pulse of your machine in real time: you can read and diagnose trouble codes, battery voltage, fuel economy, engine temperature, RPM and many more.
Installing Fuelpak
The Vance and Hines FP3 is not only very easy to install, but it is very easy to use. To install FP3 on your bike you only need to plug it into a HD-LAN (CAN Bus) 6 pin system on your bike, and that is it!
When the LEDs light it means that Fuelpak is active and you can start using it. You just need to pair your motorcycle to smartphone using The Vance and Hines app using bluetooth connection.
Using Fuelpak FP3
And now tune! You can download mapping for exhaust systems and other performance upgrades is available from the expansive library of calibrations being developed by Vance & Hines.
Maps are calibrated for your specific combination of motorcycle and performance parts. Virtually all combinations of Vance & Hines exhaust are available, and maps can be used to tune for any aftermarket exhaust system.
You can use AutoTune mode that allows you to tune your bike while you ride using data collected from the stock O2 sensors (by the way, you don’t need to remove O2 sensor), for any air cleaner, exhaust, and camshaft combination you can throw at it.
Simply flash the bike into AutoTune mode, enjoy your ride, and flash the collected data back into your ECU once you’re back home.
- Most easy to use tuner on a market
- Expansive collection of maps tuned in-house by Vance & Hines
- Autotune mode for precision tuning for specific requirements
- Live Sensor Data can be viewed through the smartphone
- Vance & Hines quality and reputation
- You may loose dealer warranty
And if you are an advanced user FP3 gives you full access to critical ECU tables to change idle RPM, rise rev limit, adjust VE table, Air Fuel Ratio, spark advance etc. But it doesn’t mean that you have to use this option.
I don’t consider myself as an advanced user for now, so I just stick with pre canned maps. But I love to know that it is just there for me if I want to make some changes. All you need to do is just look throuth the list of tuning parts at the app and choose the right setting for you bike.

If you’re looking for great performance tuning for reasonable money Fuelpak FP3 is a one to buy!
It will be useful both for average and experienced users plus Vance & Hines reputation and quality makes it a real deal!
